Fat-soluble vitamins

Fat soluble vitamins refer to vitamins A, D, E and K. They are stored in special fat storage cells called lipocytes. Since fat soluble vitamins are stored in body itself, they pose several threats if oversupplemented. They are obtained from fatty food stuff and the fats are needed for effective transportation of foods into the bloodstream through the digestive track via absorption.

Out of the four fat soluble vitamins, only vitamin A and D have a potential toxicity. It is said that there are lots of possibilities for the presence of vitamin toxicosis in today's foods and supplements. If you cannot do dieting, then get a diet food home delivery and have diet plans.

Lack of vitamins causes lots of disorders. So fat soluble vitamins are essential for life. Even animals need these vitamins infact, the requirements are greater than adults. The other factors that will lead to an increased requirement of vitamins are lactation, pregnancy and exercise.
