Body for life

Body for life refers to a twelve week diet and exercise program. It is also an annual physique transformation competition. This program was introduced by a person Bill Philips who is also a former competitive body builder and also the founder of EAS. He is also the manufacturer of nutritional supplements.

Body for life comprise of most of the body building principles. It is often complimented by gyms, nutritionist and personal trainers. It consists of six meals a day. Each meal consists of a portion of a lean protein rich food, a portion of unrefined carbohydrates and another portion of one vegetable.

Generally a vegetable is included for its dietary fiber and vitamin content and to make the meal bulkier. One portion should be the same size of a person's either opened hand or clenched into a fist. There should be three hour gap between the meals. Body for life concepts are popularized by its book in the same name.
