Preventing Childhood Obesity with Trim Kids Plan

Right now there are millions of young people in the US who suffer from some kind of overweight. That's why there is a national crusade for trim kids. Parents are desperately trying to lower the weight of their siblings. Unfortunately, not all of them are having success.
For that reason, the trim kids plan has appeared, in order to help parents in what sometimes seems as an impossible endeavor.

What Is A Trim Kid Plan?

The trim kids program is an idea that appeared some decades ago when millions of kids in the US started to suffer from overweight. Basically, it is a plan in which the kid has to reduce his or her caloric intake and needs to perform physical activity. The period of time in which the kid needs to do this is determined by the amount of weight that he needs to reduce.

In order to work, this kind of plans require a mutual agreement between the parent and the child. It is almost ludicrous to think that such a plan can be imposed over a child without his consent. In case the kid doesn't want to go through such routine, it is the parent the one that needs to convince him of the benefits of lowering his weight.

Of course, this won't work unless the kid sees an example in his parent. If the father or mother (or both) suffer from overweight, how can they tell their kids that having overweight is bad and that they need to lower their body mass? Believe it or not, this scenario is quite common in the US, where 60 million adults are obese.

The same happens with reading. A child will read books if he has grown up with the example of at least one of the parents. If he is raised in a family that watches TV all day, it is highly probable that he will spend his day in the same manner. That means that if you are planning a trim kids plan, you should consider that you and your partner are going to suffer from the same consequences.

For example, it would be very cruel for your kid to begin a trim kids plan, eating low fat and low sugar food, while his parents eat a delicious chocolate cake in front of him or do not stop eating potato chips while watching TV. Even soft drinks need to be eliminated due to their high content of sugar and little nutritional value.
