Tablets
Multivitamins are easy to take, and are usually smaller than capsules, making them easier to swallow, especially for children. They can be powdered and mixed in with food or drinks to help ingestion. Usually these tablets are coated with a layer of sugar, making them easier to swallow and less unpleasant to taste.
Capsules
The antioxidant multivitamin capsule is filled with a powder or oil and is slightly longer and sometimes significantly bigger than tablets. As the capsules are easier to digest their contents get absorbed into the bloodstream more quick than tablets. Children find capsules often hard to swallow. As capsules are mostly made of gelatine they are unsuitable for vegetarians.
Soft Gels
Softer than capsules, these are filled with a liquid that will be absorbed by the body within half an hour after ingestion. Soft gels usually have the size of an average tablet but works much faster. These soft gel capsules are made of gelatine, making them unsuitable for vegetarians.
